At least twelve persons were injured when government forces opened fire and resorted pellet firing in Shopian district after an encounter ended between militants and forces.One of the youth was hit by bullet and another was hit by pellets in eye.Intense clashes erupted around the encounter site and many civilians were injured.Sharing details, BMO Zainpoar PHC, Dr Ab Gani Raina said that twelve civilians were brought to the health facility who were injured.“One youth was hit by bullet in right his leg while as another youth was hit by pellets in eye and the duo was shifted to Srinagar hospitals for advanced treatment,”he said.Reports said that forces resorted to aerial firing as they were leavingthe encounter site.
Another youth was hit by a bullet in Shopian after government forces opened fire on the protestors on Sunday.
Sources in the Zainpora medical facility said that a youth was brought to the hospital who was hit by a bullet in abdomen. He was rushed to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
He was identified as Sareer Ahmad of Heff village of the district.
